Chelsea’s first defeat of the 2018-2019 season came at Wembley Stadium. They were outfought by London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, losing 3-1 with Heung-Min Son scoring one of the best solo goals of the entire campaign.
Tottenham were already 2-0 up thanks to first half goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane when South Korean international Son elected to go on a mazy individual run in the 54th minute. He dragged central midfielder Jorginho out wide onto the left-hand side and turned on the speed, leaving the Italian trailing in his wake. David Luiz came across and overcommitted, unable to stop Son as he cut inside and finished past Kepa Arrizabalaga with a calm finish into the bottom corner.
This was individual brilliance from Son who has fast become one of Tottenham’s most important players in recent seasons.
